Advent Garden 2019

On Sunday 1st December Glencraig celebrated the beginning of the Advent season with the traditional 'Advent' Garden in KHH where Children & Adults alike, placed a candle in the spiral of the garden and took time to intentionally slow down. Advent means 'Coming' in Latin, the coming of Jesus into the world and is the period of four Sundays and weeks before Christmas (or sometimes from the 1st December to Christmas Day!). However you choose to celebrate this season, in all the activity of work, family and life,  may you find a rhythm and pace, that allows for ‘retreat’ in order to advance

Northern Ireland’s native species protected by volunteers

North Down Red Squirrel and Pine Marten group (RSPM) in partnership with Camphill Community are set to expand the natural habitat of native wildlife, such as red squirrels and hedgehogs at the Glencraig site in Holywood. This project is possible thanks to over £8,000 awarded from the Whitemountain Programme.

The RSMP group plans to raise awareness of wildlife by working with residents of the Camphill Community to build feeders and nesting boxes for native species. They will also work with volunteers at the site to monitor and manage wildlife in the area.

Advent Craft Fair 2019
