Administrative Assistant
Hours - 37.5 hrs per week, 9am – 5pm Monday to Sunday – Hours to be agreed with manager. Occasional bank holiday cover will be required.
Salary - £22,308

The post holder will provide efficient and accurate administrative support to the Social Care Department, and other Corporate Service Functions as directed by the department managers. The individual will be responsible for maintaining records, processing confidential and highly sensitive data and completing ad hoc administrative work. They will be responsible for answering and directing calls and on occasions providing reception cover. Please note; this position does not meet the requirements of for Tier 2 Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship
Learning Support Assistant
Hours - 34 hours per week for 49 weeks* Monday – Friday 8.30am-3.30pm, Thursday – 8.30am-2.30pm
Salary - Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE level) - £20,225.92 per annum Level 3 (equivalent to A level) A yearly incremental scale –£20,225.92 - £ 21,199.36 per annum

The Learning Support Assistant’s role is to be part of a team in providing the highest possible standard of educational support and care to children and young people with a range of special educational needs, and in particular, autism spectrum condition. The role involves encouraging and enabling the children and young people to pursue a valued life style by participating in meaningful daily activities, supporting the well-being and development of skills as well as enhancing and promoting independence, choices and rights within a safe and caring environment. The Learning Support Worker role may require an element of personal care and at times will require the use of redirection or physical intervention as a last resort, with those presenting with behaviours of concern. Please note; this position does not meet the requirements for Tier 2 Visa Sponsorship at this time.

Volunteering

Volunteering has always been a key part of the service provided by Glencraig. From the 1960’s to present, there have been between 20 & 40 international volunteers who come and stay for at least a year at Glencraig.

Volunteers and Students

  1. The involvement of local volunteers and students is welcomed at Glencraig, there are four main areas where the above can be involved:
    Residential setting – supporting adults with a learning disability in a residential setting.
  2. School Placement – supporting children with a learning disability and complex needs in an educational setting.
  3. Training College – supporting adults with a learning disability and complex needs in day activities.
  4. Environmental and gardening projects

Short Term Coworker (International Volunteers)

International Volunteers are mainly involved in the residential setting at Glencraig but in some cases, it may be possible to organise activities in other areas. International Students are usually placed in areas relevant to their course of study if there is a place available.

There are three stages in our application process:

  • Stage 1 – The applicant will submit an online application form and if suitable will be invited to participate in a skype interview. After the interview, they will be informed if they have been selected for the project.
  • Stage 2 – If selected they will need to complete an Access NI application (the criminal record check for Northern Ireland) and provide specified documents to Glencraig.
  • Stage 3 – Only for International Volunteers/Students who require a UK visa. After they have received their Access NI clearance they will apply for a UK Charity Worker visa.

The above process can take 3 – 5 months to complete.
