Current Vacancies
The Facilities Administrator will be responsible for efficiently managing the facilities helpdesk and ensuring that all compliance-related administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time. This role demands strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in facilities management, helpdesk operations, and compliance administration.

This role involves the day-to-day management of a 54-bed residential service across 12 houses, supporting between 1 and 7 residents in each home. The service operates in line with the Residential Care Home Regulations (Northern Ireland 2005), DHSSPS minimum standards, and organisational quality systems. Adult services use a mixed staffing model of employees and on-site vocational volunteer workers. More information about Glencraig and its approach is available on the Camphill Glencraig website.

Due to the ongoing expansion of our school, we are recruiting for a number of Classroom Assistants (Additional Special Educational Needs) to join an established team, providing the highest possible standard of educational support and care to students with a range of complex special educational needs, and in particular, autism spectrum condition.
The post involves supporting our students to engage with the curriculum by participating in meaningful daily activities which nurture well-being and encourage the development of skills. As a Classroom Assistant, you will play a vital role in promoting independence and learning within an idyllic natural setting.
The Classroom Assistant’s role may require an element of personal care and at times will require the use of redirection or physical intervention as a last resort, with those presenting with behaviours of concern.

Volunteering
Volunteering has always been a key part of the service provided by Glencraig. From the 1960’s to present, there have been between 20 & 40 international volunteers who come and stay for at least a year at Glencraig.
Volunteers and Students
- The involvement of local volunteers and students is welcomed at Glencraig, there are four main areas where the above can be involved:
Residential setting – supporting adults with a learning disability in a residential setting. - School Placement – supporting children with a learning disability and complex needs in an educational setting.
- Training College – supporting adults with a learning disability and complex needs in day activities.
- Environmental and gardening projects
Short Term Coworker (International Volunteers)
International Volunteers are mainly involved in the residential setting at Glencraig but in some cases, it may be possible to organise activities in other areas. International Students are usually placed in areas relevant to their course of study if there is a place available.
There are three stages in our application process:
- Stage 1 – The applicant will submit an online application form and if suitable will be invited to participate in a skype interview. After the interview, they will be informed if they have been selected for the project.
- Stage 2 – If selected they will need to complete an Access NI application (the criminal record check for Northern Ireland) and provide specified documents to Glencraig.
- Stage 3 – Only for International Volunteers/Students who require a UK visa. After they have received their Access NI clearance they will apply for a UK Charity Worker visa.
The above process can take 3 – 5 months to complete.
